Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence-- (Isaiah 64:1 NKJV)
Greetings!
My name is Sara Pak and I am so humbled by this opportunity to serve with you and serve you as the West Regional president. I believe that it is going to an exciting ride and I am so thrilled that I get to ride it with you!
I would like share a little bit about myself first.I am married to a wonderful man, Rick, who is currently serving as an army chaplain at JBLM, Ft. Lewis and we've been married a little over ten years. One thing that makes us unique is that we were born on the same day and same year in the same city, Seoul Korea! We just celebrated our 40th birthday and it was such a relief to know that we were getting old together.Literally! ☺ We have two beautiful daughters, Samantha who turned 7 in October and Addyson who is almost 4 and 1/2 years old. They have great sense of humor and they bring such joy to our hearts.
It is also a great joy to be part of PWOC.I began attending PWOC in the fall of 2008 and I met many godly women and made long-lasting friendships. Many ladies were there for me & prayed for me during our first deployment. And now, we are preparing for another deployment to Afghanistan this winter and I am so comforted to know that there are PWOC sisters who are praying for me and with me. What can I say, I love PWOC sisters!I have to be honest though. I was overwhelmed by the task that was given to me as I accepted the position as the West Regional president. As soon as I got home, I began to seek God about the things I needed to do.I was busy asking God to show me the visions, board members and other "things". Then I heard that small voice saying, "Sara, do you know why I chose you?I chose you so that you will draw yourself to Me."This time, I was overwhelmed by His grace and mercy.
A few months ago, God took hold of me with a single verse from Isaiah 64. It is written at the top of this letter.I don't know about you but there have been verses in the past that had 'haunted' me and Isaiah 64:1 is one of them. This verse has been on my mind and heart for quite some time and yes, this verse once again captivated my mind and heart as I was preparing a speech at the Installation Service. This time, it wasn't just verse 1 but verses 1 through 5A.I'll let you read them for yourself.Ever since then, these verses never left my mind.I meditate on them every day and night.God's word is alive and active!
Once again, I am thrilled to see what God will do in the West Region for His glory! He will rend the heavens and come down and the mountains and the nations will shake at His presence! He will make His name known! Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides our God.He will act on behalf of those who wait on Him and we will wait on Him!
In Christ,
Sara Pak,
PWOC West Region President
