Leona Tatum, West Region President
email president
I want to begin by first wishing each of you a Happy New Year. I pray that each of you had time with family and friends as you reflected on what the birth of Christ meant those thousands of years earlier and what it means to each of us now.
I have to say that it has been hard for me to really express what this past year has meant for me as I have served as your West Region President. There are times when God calls you to things in life and you really never understand why you have been chosen; you just know that you must go and do what God is asking for in a particular season of your life. This is exactly where I have found myself over this last year. I never expected or even anticipated that I would be in this position but just a little over 14 months ago I began a journey with God that has truly changed and touched me life in many ways. Although I am still not sure why I was chosen for this journey, I just know that I am thankful that I have not been alone but that God has been with me. read more

It is hard to believe that a year has passed since my installation as your West Regional Vice President. But I can say that even though this year has gone by rather fast God's direction had been seen and felt throughout this process. The Lord in his infinite wisdom and care has directed every step of the planning process for our regional conference down to the smallest detail. I can truly say that from the location, speaker, and worship leader God's hand has been guiding us. I am still in awe of how things have come to be and expecting God to do a mighty work in our midst when we do come together.
As we, your board, prepare ourselves for our conference this fall in Seattle, WA my prayer is that you would be in preparation yourself. Our vision for the west PWOC's is to inspire women to be positioned for prayer. What might that look like for you? How is God moving you to draw closer to HIM through prayer? For some it may be starting to pray on a regular basis, for others it may be to dedicate more time, or even it may be to learn to be still and wait on the Lord during prayer. We are all at different places in our prayer life but I would challenge you to seek God and allow HIM to bring you to a new place in your prayer life. read more

It is a great privilege and joy to serve all of you as your Administrative Coordinator. I consider it an honor to equip you for your ministries across the Region. I share the passion and vision you have for PWOC and for the women of our installations. It is that passion and vision that inspires and motivates me to be available to you.
We have come to the end of the Fall Session of PWOC and are gearing up for the Spring Session. I know that I have often felt my zeal for PWOC ministry wane during this time and the upcoming months. I pray that you have had a joyous Noel and time to recharge your batteries, if you will, during this much needed season. Let me encourage us all with this verse: "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." (Gal. 6:9)
Well, having nothing of value to share with you in and of myself, allow me to conclude by encouraging you in the gospel. I urge you to keep this good news at the forefront of your thinking for yourself and to share with others. read more

It has been a joy and an honor for me to pray for each of you this past year. Now as we look forward, our Regional Conference will be coming up in October. I invite you to join with me in praying for our conference. The vision Leona and the board has been given is Women Positioned for Prayer. What a joy it would be to fulfill this vision as we pray together for our conference! Each month I will send out a "Prayer Point" for us to pray for and focus on. I will send it to the presidents and have it on the West Region Prayer page.
I have been studying Esther, and in chapter 4 Mordecai tells Esther she has been placed in this position "for such a time as this". She has been given a great opportunity to save her people from death, but she herself could be put to death just going to see the king without being summoned, but it is something she had to do. Today we do not face the fear Esther did, but we have been called just as she was for "such a time as this". We are being positioned to pray for each other and to stand in the gap for those who cannot. Please join with me and the Regional Board as we Position ourselves in Prayer for our Regional Conference!

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Welcome to a New Year and a new opportunity to finish well! In 2011 we continue with the PWOC-International theme "Shine in the Light of His Glory!"
Part of the theme scripture from Matthew 5 says:
"…let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in
heaven."
A worthy goal for all of us in 2011 is to finish our PWOC ministry year shining not fizzling out. We want to maintain excellence and pass off the baton with joy.
The Apostle Paul lived this principle! He was told by the Holy Spirit that there would be difficulties every where he ministered; and yet his heart was set on finishing well!
"But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify of the gospel of the grace of God." Acts 20:24
How does Paul seek to "finish the course?" His goal was to finish well and with JOY! read more
